Raymond Pavkov is the type of person you
would expect to find in the intricate business of recording the inexorable march
of our time.
Pavkov is, for the record, a Certified
Master Clockmaker, which required an 8,000 hour apprenticeship and included a 3
year study with the British Horological Institute and the American Watchmakers
Institute.
The road to becoming a Master Clockmaker
was long and arduous; working under a seventh-generation Master Clockmaker.
Pavkov was the first graduate of the Connecticut State Apprenticeship in Clock-making, which will give you some inkling as to why you might find your
watch so baffling when you look inside and see a wheel traveling in one
direction then quickly reversing, 18,000 times each hour!
